• Honda Civic makes only detail changes for 2005 after adding a gasoline-electric Honda Civic Hybrid Sedan as an early '03 model. All Honda Civic have a 4-cyl gas engine, a 2.0 liter in the Si, a 1.7 in the others.
• The Honda Civic Hybrid uses an electric motor to assist a special 1.3-liter gasoline engine.
• As with Honda Civics hybrid-power 2-seat Insight, the system recharges the batteries when coasting or decelerating, eliminating plug-in charging.
• Honda Civics come with manual or automatic transmission. The automatic used in the HX and Hybrid is a continuously variable transmission (CVT) with, in effect, an infinite number of ratios.
• Front side airbags are standard for the Honda Civic.
